VILLA AVALON - Area Information

Discover a place where beautiful scenery meets vibrant culture. Puerto Rico is a stunning part of the world that we're lucky to call home. Come stay with us for a trip you'll always remember. Before you embark, take a minute to read all about our beautiful little town and the island of Puerto Rico.

Whale Jumping Out of the Water

Rincon

Rincon, a small town on Puerto Rico's unspoiled west coast, is known for its several miles of sandy Caribbean beaches and the best big wave surfing anywhere in the Atlantic. Adventurous tourists also flock here for terrific fishing, boating, swimming, snorkeling, off-shore scuba diving, whale watching, and so much more. And, after a day of exploring, visitors to the area dine at one of the many fine restaurants.

What To Do?

El Faro, Rincon's lighthouse, offers stunning views of the ocean and is one of two passive whale watching parks in the world. The surrounding area offers spectacular mountain driving and captivating side trips to coffee plantations, mini rainforests, the Rio Camuy Cave Park, Cabo Rojo's salt flats, Arecibo Observatory's massive radio telescope, and the biologically wondrous Phosphorescent Bay. True explorers will love visiting the two nearby waterfalls, including El Ultimo Brinco, and the Calvache and Gozalandia hiking trails in San Sebastian. Golfing is also available 25 minutes north in Aguadilla, and casino gambling is only 25 minutes south in Mayaguez. We also recommend checking out the Thursday Night Art Walk and the Sunday Morning Market.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is about half the size of New Jersey with 171 miles of Atlantic and Caribbean coastline. People often stopover in Puerto Rico when flying in or out of San Juan to other Caribbean destinations.

Increasingly, Puerto Rico is becoming a year-round destination. Peak season is from December 1 to April 30, and the mid-season is from May 1 to November 30. August is the hottest and wettest month, averaging 81 degrees and seven inches of rain. Puerto Rico's trade winds assure comfortable days and nights.

Dollar for dollar, you will spend less money by renting a summer house or fully equipped unit in Puerto Rico than you would in Cape Cod, Laguna Beach, the coast of Maine, or even the New Jersey Shore.
